Report on the subspace wire said Joeff was found dead nine light-years from here. He’d been floating frozen outside an airlock for three months. No sign of foul play or mechanical failure that they could find. Just . . . passed on, a victim of the stellar trail. Long may we speak his name.

Problem is, that wasn’t his name. No one knows who the hell he was.
